Got babies? Or a family member with super-sensitive skin? I have just the thing for you!
This ultra-gentle handmade baby soap has no preservatives, no fragrance, and no color, all of which can irritate babies or those with skin problems. This special soap is made with real Gerber carrot baby food as well as fresh buttermilk! It’s hard to get more natural than that.
Perfect for babies, children or anyone with super-sensitive skin, this is the ultimate in gentle soap. The recipe was created by an expert soapmaker for her own newborn baby. Wouldn’t a couple of bars of this soap – wrapped up really cute – make a wonderful gift at a baby shower? You could even include a bar of luxurious and fragrant Enchanted Bath cold process soap or an Enchanted Bath lotion or cream as a gift for the expectant mother so she can pamper herself.
Note: You may get a few extra brownie points from the expectant mom if you let her know that you have ‘shopped small’ or bought locally instead of buying from the giant chain stores. If she is especially socially conscious, she’ll really appreciate this.
Hesitant about buying handmade soap for your baby? If you have always used a certain popular baby wash for your children, you may want to compare your current wash with this handmade baby soap. The most popular store-bought baby wash contains these ingredients:
Store-Bought Baby Wash Ingredients
• Cocamidopropyl Betaine
• PEG 80 Sorbitan Laurate
• Sodium Laureth Sulfate
• PEG 150 Distearate
• Tetrasodium EDTA
• Sodium Chloride
• Polyquatemium 10
• Quaternium 15
• Citric Acid
My Buttermilk Baby Soap Ingredients
• Olive oil
• Coconut Oil
• Sodium Hydroxide
This Buttermilk Baby Soap was purposely left unscented so it would be very gentle. For those who like a little fragrance in their baby soap, I will be making a scented version soon.
All of my soap is made in small batches and they usually sell out quickly, so be sure to check back here often or become a Facebook fan to be notified of new soaps as soon as they are ready for sale. If you see something you like, order right away if possible, because once a particular batch is gone, it may be months before I decide to make that exact type of soap again. The same goes for this baby soap, and it takes another 6 weeks to cure after I make it. So plan ahead and buy early if you have a special event coming up.
And don’t forget – this baby soap isn’t just for babies!
*This soap is not ‘tear-free’ so do not use in baby’s eyes.
